The first of our three golf days took place last Friday, and it was a hugely successful day despite the early rain (does it always rain up north?).
After having to cancel last year’s annual golf events due to COVID 19, it was great to get the first of our events off the ground, and we had a great turn out.
The event took place at Staining Lodge Golf Club, who did an amazing job of making the event work successfully, and make sure that everyone was safe.
We had 22 teams take part, who all had a wonderful time.
1st | Drop Kick Trifle with | 95 points |
2nd | Raymond James with | 92 points |
3rd | Mark Sluman with | 90 points |
1st | Paul Wiston | 43 pts |
2nd | Jason Keogh | 39 pts |
3rd | Linton Holling | 39 pts |
Andy Thompson of SOS Kit Aid said, “It was fantastic to have such support for the day from everyone after such a difficult time over the last 12 months or so. It really was quite inspiring and reassuring.”
He went on to add, “I’d like to thank Peter Wigglesworth of Staining Lodge for working closely with us. A big well done to Cath and Irene for their sterling work selling draw tickets, and to Gary for fighting through the rain to help set up our banners and signage. Our gazebo managed to get turned inside out by the wind!”
Judging by the feedback from everyone, the Northern SOS Kit Aid golf day will be back next year bigger and better …. and a little drier hopefully !
